Thanksgiving
Prepare a Thanksgiving wheel-style phrase game with 24 answers, categories, clues, a six-puzzle host plan and separate host and player downloads.
Turn familiar food, gathering plans and a few unexpected autumn scenes into a shared letter-board game. Choose six answers from the 24 below, announce each category and let players guess letters before solving the complete phrase. These are original host puzzles, not television episode answers or a trivia test.
Use the meal and Friendsgiving phrases for groups that want that theme. Ask guests first; no one needs to describe their own family, share something personal or explain a tradition. The final six fall alternatives let you replace references that do not fit your group. At work, participation can be optional and clues can stay about the fictional puzzle.
These editable text files open in a text editor for adapting or printing. The host sheet contains all 24 answers, categories, clues, word lengths and notes. The separate player sheet contains the six-puzzle running order below with categories, clues, word lengths and writing space, without solutions.
Keep this article and the host file on your private screen. Share only the board or player file. For paper play, read each clue aloud and let players write letter guesses before attempting a full solve.
Select this host-only text and copy it into your preparation document. Each line has an answer, category and clue separated by tabs. Enter each puzzle separately in the manual editor; this list does not bulk-import or preload a game.
Allow roughly 15–20 minutes as a host planning estimate. Hold the final two puzzles in reserve if conversation takes longer. Rotate the spokesperson so the quickest reader does not answer every time. Use the game's normal scores; these suggestions do not add an automatic timer, special round or bonus. Check turns and scoring before guests arrive.
These invented scenes add a little surprise without relying on private jokes. Always give the category and clue; the unusual wording is part of the puzzle.
Use this bank as its own six-puzzle round or replace any meal-themed answer. Autumn scenery and weather vary by location, so choose references the group recognizes.
For a paper-only cooperative version, announce the category and write word lengths, such as 7 + 3 for the first warm-up. Read its clue, collect letter suggestions and let the group agree on a solve. The host runs this variation; it is not a separate app mode.
For a workplace or remote gathering, check participant-device limits and decide who shares the board before sending invitations. Keep the answer article out of that shared window.
Choose a few answers from this resource, then add each answer, category and clue in the manual game editor. Review the board before hosting. These examples are a preparation sheet; the button opens game creation and does not automatically import the list.
Participants join in a browser with a room code. Choose team or individual play when launching. Free accounts can save up to three games and host up to three participant devices; check current plan limits before inviting a larger group.
Any discussion prompts, lesson timings and extra scoring suggested here are instructions for the host to run. They are not automatic grading features.
